ABOUT THE FOUNDER 
Jo Ann M. Colton has over 35 years of experience as a writer, author, poet, and business management professional in the corporate world and private sector, and business owner. She holds a B.S. Degree in Business Management, and professional certifications in both business management and human resources.
Colton is a diverse writer whose writing experience lies in creating business and corporate material, human resources policies, procedures and related projects, marketing collaterals, and other writing-for-hire projects for businesses including, but not limited to, faux painting, art galleries, real estate, aromatherapy products and more. She has written newspaper articles relating to business and employment matters, and is the author of non-fiction books (The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Business Basics 101, So, You Want To Be A Writer, How to Develop Story Line Ideas, and Marketing Matters) as well as the fiction mystery book, Pieces of the Puzzle, In addition, Ms. Colton creates one-of-a-kind custom verses (matted and framed) for all occasions (anniversaries, birthdays, weddings…), as well as slogans and verses for marketing strategies and corporate functions.
In January 2000 Jo Ann Colton founded the Las Vegas Valley Writers Group. Her group provided an opportunity for writers to meet and network with others of like minds, share resources and exchange information about publishing, agents and the art of writing, and also offered writers the occasion to read their creative work and receive group critique. During its six-year span of operation (2000-2006) the now dissolved group was a forerunner in providing assistance for, and bringing public attention to, writers living in the Las Vegas community.
